Tokelauan People

For reading this week every reading group was given a culture I am in octopus, octopus was given the culture Tokelau so here is my research for the Tokelauan people. I learnt that they are very similar to Samoan people, I also learnt that their 1 is said the same way as the Maori 1 Tahi.

Craft Market Collage

Last Friday PCS had a craft market. There was lots of cool things that we could buy, so everyone brought some money to buy the cool things. Our class room 4 made soap, lip scrub, pamper packs and flubber soap. The money from the craft market goes to camp at the end of the year.

The Making Of The Cookbook Reflection.

The making of cookbook reflection.

From making our cookbook I have learnt, how to work out the cost of it, how to set out a recipe, that a consumer is someone who buys a cookbook (customer.) and how to make an ad to sell our product.I also learnt that when I set out my recipe that I had to make it visually appealing so that someone who bought the cookbook would make my recipe.i also learnt how to make my own recipe because I didn’t even know it.

I enjoyed writing my recipe knowing that someone was going to make and eat it, and I also enjoyed writing the persuasive writing even though I didn’t share it. I enjoyed making an ad because after I did mine I videoed some other peoples, and I enjoyed reflecting on it remembering the memories on this.

QR codes

We have just learnt how to make QR codes as another way to link our work. You can download an app called QR code scanner on any device, android or apple, if you run you scanner over the QR code it will take you straight to the URL it is linked to. See where this QR code takes you!

Zika Virus

For reading I had to research the Zika Virus and then Put my information onto a poster, so I chose to do a Pikto Chart. I learnt that the Zika virus is carried by Mosquitoes and that it causes things that were only caused by one thing.

Roald Dahl

I've been doing an author study over the 2 weeks, I finished early. For my Author study I decided to do Roald Dahl. I found out that There is a Roald Dahl day on September the 13 and that he had more than one illustrator.

How To Make Pinwheel Scones.

In reading Octopus had to come up with a gluten free or a dairy free recipe but in the end we did neither of those and just made pinwheel scones because none of the gluten free and dairy free recipes pleased us, this will tell you how to make them.

Chocolate

3 Way Conferences

We had 3 way conferences last night. I felt confident about sharing my work with my parents and I was Happy that both my parents came .

Manawatu Gorge Slip

In my reading group we had to learn about the Manawatu gorge slip. I got to use a site called Prezi. We had to to read a book and find out information about the slip. I learnt that it took 1 year to fix.If you like this please leave a comment.

We have been learning about ANZAC and I was able to use Piktochart to make this poster. It was a fun experience for me but I found it annoying that I couldn't find a way to insert a text box, so I had to insert a text frame.Here is the link.

Have A Go Day

Yesterday was Have a go day we played Rippa rugby,Turbo Touch, Futsal ( modified version of football ),Handball, Ultimate Frisbee. I'm not a sporty person, but I really liked Futsal because we had to work as a team and I really enjoy that, I also liked our coach because he made us sing a song called why are we waiting. I pretty much hated the other sports.

Time management checklist

My groups presentation is about time management and what it looks like. We have made this checklist to remind our selves how to manage time effectively.We worked collaboratively in groups of five and we each did one slide I did two,We each gave each other feedback. Time management helps me manage my effectively so that when I grow up and get a job I don't get fired for not getting the work done in time.

Google maps

In maths we have been learning about google maps and how we can use it I learnt that google maps can find the quickest route from one place to another, it also is a G.P.S ( global positioning system ).It can tell you how long it will take in different ways like, using a bicycle, driving, using a plane and walking. How To Look After Your Chrome Book

Room 4 had to do some instructions on how to look after your chrome book.We first had to write 10 tips in our writing book, then we had to find a way to present it I did Story board that. I hope these tips help you look after your chrome book.

Flag referendum info

My class has been doing some work on the flag referendum and some people did slides and some did . I would vote for the old flag because people have died under that flag in World War 1 and World War 2. But I can't because I'm to young.How about you?
